Gary Lockman founded Manor Homes, Inc. in 1983, launching his career by developing, building, and selling an entire subdivision independently to establish equity. Under his leadership, the company grew from closing 4 homes annually to 300 homes per year, completing over 1,000 homes.
The 2008 housing market crash necessitated difficult changes, including downsizing a 33-member team. Gary supported former employees in transitioning to new opportunities and takes pride in his son’s success as a builder in Decatur, Georgia. From 2009 to 2015, he negotiated with lenders to resolve debts without filing bankruptcy, retaining Osprey Pointe for its potential.
A recognized leader in the industry, Gary served as President of the Rockdale chapter of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association and is a retired lifetime member of the Atlanta Homebuilders Board of Directors. Manor Homes has earned nine Obie Awards, a prestigious honor in homebuilding.
Since retiring, Gary has built and remodeled homes in the Atlanta/Decatur area, maintaining the Southern Living tradition in his designs. In developing Osprey Pointe, he partnered with Bill Lynn, who serves as the builder of record, and is proud of the quality and craftsmanship that Bill brings to their homes. Gary remains dedicated to overseeing projects that reflect Manor Homes’ commitment to excellence.
